iPod nano click wheel problem

I was using my ipod nano 4gb this morning and went to shut it off, and my click wheel and select buttons stopped working. I have done the 5 r's hoping it was one of them but no luck.....my iPod resets but my wheel still refuses to work, does anyone know of a solution other than sending for service?

as an update i left my iPod plugged in overnight last night and it seemed to give me about an hour with my click wheel, after that i havent been able to reset it without plugging it back in.

it seems like there are more than a few people that are having this exact same issue - myself included! I have a gen 1, 1GB nano.

well my 2G nano 1st gen is doing the same thing. It appears to accept the 'reset' with center+menu, but then it ignores the click wheel completely. I can even put songs with iTunes and see the nano's serial # etc. I wonder if it is a good thing to but a click wheel online and then replace it.

I have a ipod nano 2gb and have the same problem...my ipod will reset but won't work after it resets..any help will be helpful.

Hey yeah!! my nano 2nd generation did the exact same thing! i can reset it, but the freakin thing won't respond after that. My scroll wheel isn't working! Did you ever find anything that worked for yours? could you please let me know if you ever figure out something

I'll add a "me too". This morning, my very reliable 2GB 1st gen nano click wheel stopped working. I walked through the 5 R's also, but no help.

Any ideas are very welcomed.

Just want to keep this thread alive in case anyone has solved the issue. My wife's 2g 1st gen nano started the same thing two days ago. It can reset, but neither the wheel nor the buttons will function otherwise.

Add one more to the list. My 4GB nano's click wheel also stopped working for no apparent reason. It allows me to reset, and iTunes recognized the device just fine, but the click wheel is totally dead.

I have the exact same problem. I can't even reset it because my menu and back button won't work. I don't know what the 5rs are. Can anyone explain that to me?

I reset my 2nd Gen iPod several times without fixing the problem. I also did a complete restore, but the click wheel still doesn't work.

Anyone find a solution?

I totally have this exact problem but with an iPod Video not a nano. I would kill for a solution. Not literally. Well... maybe.
