Change Background Color for Books?

Hi there,

does anybody know if one can use a custom color for the background of the book pages? iPhoto comes with four different colors. But I would prefer to use a white or grey, which is not included in these four background schemas.

Thanks for any advice!

I noticed in the new iPhoto that you can use any image as the background of any page. You just pick that "palm tree" option in the background popup and then drag an image into the background of the page. I pulled out my camera and took some photos of things like crumpled paper and my stucco wall to use as backgrounds... it's really cool.

I imagine you could do the same thing to control the color of the page background by creating small images of a single color in a drawing application and then importing the JPEG art into iPhoto to add to your book.

The iPhoto help entry says "You can change the design of ANY page, including the front and back covers. For a hardcover book, you can change the design of the dust jacket." I have been able to change the FRONT of the dust jacket for an 11 X 8.5 hardback (in the contemporary theme, not sure if that matters) to anything I want by designing the page in PhotoShop and saving it as a jpeg.

However, I can't seem to change the BACK of the dust jacket, or the end flaps. The BACKGROUND options for those pages don't show the little palm tree, and the LAYOUT options don't have an option that's just a photo. So I have this really cool front cover with a photo on a black background, but it looks dorky with gray end flaps and back cover. Did I miss something? Is this a bug, or a "feature?"
