Widescreen NON HD...

I feel lame even posting this....

What's the widescreen setting that's not HD?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

If you're talking Project Properties, start with the relevant preset for your output (that is, DV or Broadcast SD), then alter the Pixel Aspect Ratio drop-down setting to DV/D1 Anamorphic (according to your video standard, of course: PAL or NTSC).

Or is this not meant for tape or DVD? Multimedia, maybe?

Have you tried adjusting the Conform Aperture property at all in QT Pro? For some odd reason, QT exports from the FCS apps don't set this property.

Anyhow, I believe choosing Clean or Production should work for you.

Or is this even after trying that?
