iTunes will convert to mp3. go to the preferences in iTunes, select Advanced, then Importing. change it to mp3 (remember to change it back when you're done ripping). close the Preferences and then you can select the song(s) and choose Advanced in the Menu. Convert to mp3 will be found there.

An easy way (there are several) is to use iTunes.
In iTunes > Preferences, click Advanced, and then click Importing.
Select whichever format you want to import in .
In that same area, choose an option from the On CD Insert pop-up menu.

Why on earth would you want to rip tracks to MP3 format? If you are ripping a normal audio CD, the sample rate is 44.1khz 16 bit and by ripping it to MP3 you are then reducing the quality of the audio dramatically. When you then import the file into Logic it will only automatically convert it back to a .aif file anyway and you've just ruined the quality of your audio.To be honest I wouldn't use .wav either, it sounds like you're still living in PC world. Start using .aif and begin by going to your itunes preferences and under 'advanced' choose the 'import' tab and under 'import using' select 'AIFF Encoder'. You can now be sure that this audio will no longer loose any quality.
