palatino font problems

I had iWork '06, now I have iWork '08. Opened up blank doc in Pages '08 and typed "Hello, world!". I highlighted the text and changed the font from Helvetica to Palatino. Text disappeared. Tried retyping with Palatino as the font and nothing appears.

Tried another test. On line1, I typed "line1". On line2, I typed "line2". On line3, I typed "line3".

I highlighted line1 and changed the font to Osaka (the font immediately preceding Palatino)--no problem. I highlighted line3 and changed the font to Papyrus (the font immediately after Palatino)--no problem. I highlighted line 2 and changed the font to Palatino and line2 disappears! Line3 moves up to line2.

This certainly seems like a bug. Does anyone have an explanation? Should I file a bug report?
