Synchronising ical with ipod nano

Hi,

I have an ipod nano (a year old) with software update 1.3.1, which I am trying to sync with my ical. However, every time I open my ipod (in itunes, latest ed.), and tick the "sync ical" box, I get the message (translated from norwegian) "cannot find any calendar - would you like to open ical?." So, I open ical, and nothing happens. There seems to be no way of linking up here.

Any ideas will be appreciated.
