nokia 8800 sirocco isnt found by macbookpro BT

First time here and I hope someone can help me. Just had a Nokia 8800 sirocco delivered. Very nice sleek phone (here in Germany we are still waiting for the iphone .) ) AS it should isync with the computer it would be a perfect addition to the Blackberrys we use at work and sync with USB and missing sync. The 8800 can only be synced via BT, no possible USB connection.
My problem is that neither the computer can find the phone nor the phone the computer, although if I try the same thing from a Samsung Tablet PC it works both ways - so it is not the BT on the phone. I am typing this using my wireless keyboard so it is not the BT on the computer either. As well the BT on the computer finds my old Nokia 8910 (but cant isync) as well as my work Blackberry (with which I can use address book)
I have MacOS X 10.4.10, english.
Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
