How can I found a driver for an old JVC Cam GR-DVm5 please?

I'd love to get this to work, but I can't find a driver for it.

Any suggestions please?

connect your device via firewire/iLink, and let iM08 do its job ...

ah, Thank you Karsten, but that's really the problem, IM does not reconize the
camera, and yup, in play mode, ff, rw, etc.... Just does not see it. Only see's the iSight.

... connect your camcorder to power-line..

play with Camera-On then iM/first launch iM then Camera-On

Plan B)
does the system profiler recognize your device?
connect camera, siwtch it on..
click on the Blue Apple, upper left, choose 'About'/more info...

somewhere in the list of 'firewire connected devices' your camera should be..
if NOT - change cable...
still NOT.. trouble.. 😟

Thank you again Karsten for takeing the time.

Tried both options, no good. Now this Vcam was the best in it's time, about 1998 or so. Used it with Windoz products with no problem.

Any other advice please? I may, later, try to rev it up using Vista on my Boot Camp side.

yeah, but what about the system profiler I mentioned above... (there WAS a step3 ... 😉 ) ?

a simple 'broken cable' could cause effects, a 'zappped' firewire port causes even more trouble..

Karsten, just heading out the door but I went into sys profiler, Apps/Utility folder, and it does not see the camera under the firewire devices. 😟

I am using a good known cable as well.

Tom, before you leave you should < door slam, muffled voice > .. unplug your Mac...
.. too late.

Tom, when you read this I'm asleep (very different timezone...)
as you noticed, there' no physical 'link' between your device and your Mac.

to localize the problem:
try a different cable.. doesn't work?
try at a different computer... does work? Mac kaputt. does not work? camera kaputt.

plus: unplug your Mac from the powerline, if its a laptop, take out battery... wait for about 10min.. that 'resets' the electronics of the fw-ports... give it another try ...
