Hitachi's New External Hard Drive

I'm looking for an External Hard Drive. I was going to get G-Tech's Externals but I think it would be unnecessary to for my use. Which is making backups, storing regular files, and for few multimedia use. Basically I want a dive that's reliable for multimedia use as G-Tech are and for everyday uses. I've decided to get the new Hatachis which got a good review from cnet for being a USB drive. Now I'm looking for peoples opinion on if it will be able to do what I want and more. So give all you got...

If by "multimedia use" you mean digital video, get a FireWire (either 400 or 800) external drive, not USB. FireWire is faster (yes, USB2 at 480 seems faster than FireWire 400, but those are max transfer rates, not average sustained transfer rates - the latter is more important, and FireWire is superior there). For DV use, USB will often drop frames, FireWire won't.

Brand is not too important, generally speaking - there are only a few manufacturers of hard drives (but lots of companies make enclosures for those few brands of drives).
