Upgrading PowerMac G4 MDD to 4GB of Memory

1GB modules are cheap now and the PowerMac G4 MDD has 4 slots.

Are there technical limitations to filling all 4 slots with 1GB modules?

Will the computer recognize all the memory?

as I mentioned to you, Kensington doesn't work. Personally, I wouldn't put Kensington in any of my macs. Their memory just doesn't cut it!

goto mac-pro.com and see for yourself that 1GB DIMMS will work in the MDD macs.. the only problem is this:

it will only work on dual MDD macs of 1.25 and 1.42
they have to be installed in PAIRS! No other memory modules other than those can be present. For example..

you can't put 1GB dimm in with a 512MB.. it has to be 2 DIMMS IN PAIRS! But, once you do this, you can't go any higher than 2GB, though I suspect it might be possible to go beyond 2GB maybe to 2.5 or 3.

who knows?
