Netgear USB wireless adapter driver needed

Hi,

I purchased a Netgear USB wireless adapter MA101 but can not find
a driver. My G3 is running 10.3.9.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Evyatar

There does not seem to be a Mac driver for that product. If you can return it for refund, I would. Then look for one that has specs stating Mac OS X support, for example this one sold at Mac-oriented vendor OWC.

I've heard that you can "maybe" make it work, if it uses a certain chipset because there may be a generic driver for that chipset. Seems like a lot of effort, but this article may get you started.

I found a solution at:
http://www.macusenet.com/archive/index-t-67484.html
by Thomas McQuitty described by Mikey Mike (a.k.a. miklos)

basically:

you need the belkin 10.1 driver,
patched by McQuitty and his Netgear config program.

(from www.macusenet.com/archive/index-t-67484.html)

http://web.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?download=827&lang=1

http://www.mcquitty.net/files/F5D6050Driver.pkg.sit

http://www.mcquitty.net/files/NetgearNIC.sit

The Simple Instructions:

1) Run the Belkin Installer for the Belkin F5D6050 adapter. Restart.

No magic yet. Don't Panic.

2) Run Thomas' marvellously patched F5D6050Driver package. Restart.

The unit could/should be working (check Networking in System
Preferences),
but the "Belkin Wireless LAN Configuration" app won't recognise it,
so there's one more step ...

3) Decompress "Wireless LAN Configuration.app.sit".

Move the application to your Applications or Utilities Folder.

Double click on it!

You should now be able to switch/find networks, and configure the device
for WEP encryption.
-------------------------------------------------------------

The only issue I have is that with TCP/IP using DHCP, the IP address is not
found, and I have to manually enter the IP address. Not clear why the address is not found.
