Shake 4.1 Will not Launch!

Question

Shake 4.1 Will not Launch!

I have been using Shake very successfully for about 3 months now and just today shake would not launch. I received no error message or anything like that. I re-installed the software and that did nothing. I double click the shake Icon and nothing happens. Can anyone help?

Mac Pro dual QuadCore 3Ghz 16MB RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Try invoking Shake from the console (your manual will tell you how) and see if you get an error message...

I can't seem to find in my manual how to accomplish invoking from the console. any tips?

My bad - I meant to say terminal. Page 394 in you manual (and the subsequent pages) describe using Shake from the terminal. Also, you can look in the tutorials as well. You can invoke Shake from the terminal by starting Terminal, then typing in the window /Applications/Shake/shake.app/Contents/MacOS/shake, assuming your Shake directory is /Applications/Shake/ - if it is not, substitute the appropriate location for the red section above...

My first suspicion is the quotes around the Studio " G " in the pathname. Shake doesn't like funny characters like "/%, etc. in names. Can you take them off and try again?

This is getting really strange. I removed the " marks from around studio G and then tried relaunching shake. The error message still has the " marks around Studio G desptie the fact that they do not exist in that pathname. I just don't know what to make of that recent scripts error.

I suspect that it is the last script you used...

try moving \~/nreal/settings/recentScripts.h somewhere else (where "~" is your user directory).

I think Shake will create a new one...
