Export to Flash Video requires third party software be installed.
That component is probably not "Intel aware" which would require you run iMovie under Rosetta.
iMovie 7 allows export to YouTube accounts that would generate a .flv file but I believe that conversion to Flash is still handled by the YouTube upload.
Long ago Macromedia (now Adobe) offered a Flash Exporter that, when installed, added the option to export to Flash Video from any QuickTime aware application. You may have moved that old component from a previous install to a newer machine.
I don't think it has ever been updated to run native on Intel Macs so you would need to run the app under Rosetta.
I get the same error code when trying to export to flv. I am using export to quicktime and have the lates Quicktime Pro and Flash CS3. This doesn't sound like much of a solution. Any other suggestions?
yes it is done via adobe flash encoder but it worked perfect until upgrading to imovie8. Since there is absolutely no info available to this issue on adobe's forums I was looking for help here. ESPECIALLY because it is now broken due to apples upgrade and not adobes.
Come on QT Kirk, Stop making excuses. There is a problem Exporting FLV from more than one application. Apple needs to address this issue and fix it. I lost the ability to export .flv files from iMovie, FCP and Avid when I upgraded each application.
