VST plug-ins and Final Cut Pro

Hi,

is it possible to use VST plug-ins with Final Cut Pro 6 and if it is possible, where should I install it and where should I look for it in FCP? I talk about audio filter - limiter.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10), FCP 6.0

Audacity can load and use VST plugins... or at least some of them.
Once you are finished with the audio you can convert it to Aiff, then import it into Final Cut Pro.

Yes, it's true, but I need this plug-in in FCP, because I often have 40-50 minutes projects and I need to control volume level. It would be silly, export all audio.

No. VST plugins are not natively supported in FCP. FCP supports only the Audio Unit (AU) architecture.
Is the built-in Compressor/Limiter plug-in no good for your needs? Or how about bouncing your audio out to SoundTrack Pro and working on it there?

If you have specific VST plugins that you need to use in FCP, then you should take a look at the VST to AU Adapter 2.0 from www.fxpansion.com

its worth noting that Audio Unit plugins within FCP, do not support custom GUI's, you'll get it, but it'll be ugly!

Ok. Let's say FCP compressor/limiter is a choice. Maybe I'm too stupid, but when I try to use it like a limiter, it gives nothing good to me. I need, that filter make lever higher, but not more then the limit, which you can set yourself.
