Where can I find new Apple backgorunds?

New Apple backgrounds? How new are you talking? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Desktop & Screen Saver's Desktop section lets you manage your background on your desktop with multiple images. Any picture you can put in iPhoto can be put on your desktop as well. Since you are running 10.4.6, you are running the most current backgrounds available.
