radial gradients

I'm using colored circles in Keynote that need to have a radial gradient out from the center of the circle. I'd really like to make, color and add the gradient in Keynote but unfortunately it seems Keynote can only do linear gradients. I tried putting a smaller white circle on top of the colored circle but alas there is no feather control in Keynote so it just doesn't work. Any ways (XML code) or any tricks anyone might know to get Keynote to do a radial gradient without relying on other applications?

Nope. I even just tried messing with the XML. It used to be defined "gradient" and then the gradient type. Now, it's angle-gradient. I tried substitution, but it didn't work (didn't kill the file, though, so that's a positive.

Just a little bit of extra "messing with the XML" information... I created a file by fiddling with the XML that would round corners and ends of lines and posted it here.

However, using that (copy style, paste style) with Keynote '08 yields an object with no fill and no stroke.

UPDATE: I wondered if it was making it "no fill, no stroke" because it couldn't figure out the XML of the old version and it did that instead of crash. That seems to be the case since if you save the file in Keynote '08 format and try to use the copy/paste style then, it works.

Thanks Kyn. I appreciate you mucking around a bit to see if there was an XML solution. I am now importing (or more accurately) dropping the illustrator created circles onto the keynote work area (keynote then converts to .pdf). This is okay until I've got to stretch the circles large, then things get very slow editing wise. What's strange is playing the file is fine, no hiccups or slowdowns, but editing is a real pain, this is why I'd hoped to make the circles in Keynote.

Thanks again!
