Apple Return Policy for New Unopened MBP without receipt.
Hello, does anyone here know Apple's return policy really well? I received an un-upgraded MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz laptop as a gift today and I'm wondering if there is a way I can return it without a receipt. It is completly new and unopened, I just got it today. I want to return it for store credit so I can buy the glossy screen version and upgrade the hard drive to the 7200 RPM version. The only problem is that I don't have a receipt. Do you think the local Apple Retail Store will let me return it and give store credit? I'd do an even exchange in the store, but I think the 160 GB 7200 RPM drive is web order only (If it's not, please let me know).
Thanks in advance!

15 inch Macbook Pro 2.33 ghz,
Mac OS X (10.4.8),

I think you may order anything you want as far as upgrades go from the Apple Steore as long as you are willing to wait for it. But I can't imagine you'll get far at all without a receipt. Why don't you just go there and ask?
I thought I wanted the glossy screen too, because pictures and vidio looked so good on it, but when I went to the Apple store to see them and there was a reflection of everything going on outside the store in the screen, I flipped immediately and went for the other screen.

Apple's customer service is great. They took it back without hesitation and gave me an Apple gift card so I could purchase the computer online. One of the many reasons to buy from Apple!
