Running BioShock for windows xp running on a MBP 2.4Ghz 15" 07 edition

Upon finishing the install of the game I got a message telling me that I don't have the most up-to-date video drivers for my graphics chip(Nvidia 8600GT 256mb). So I tried the link that comes up and none of the new drivers on the nvida.com website work! Where can I get the most up-to-date drivers for my graphics chip? Nevertheless I am still able to run this game with no problems. I feel that if I had the latest drivers for my graphics chip it may yield far greater results.

I ran the game at 1024x768 with everything HIGH and ran smoothly. I hope somebody knows a solution to the graphics driver situation. I will be able to play more newer games being released at optimum power if this is solved.

I too had this problem on my Macbook Pro (exact same as yours). What I did was download the latest forceware drivers for the Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT. It said that it couldn't find any drivers. So, after some Google searching, I found a way to go into the .inf for the forceware setup and trick it into downloading the drivers. +This actually worked+. The drivers were recognized and installed. I really have to run, so I don't have the time to locate that forum post again, unfortunately.

However, I realized afterwards that I only had Bootcamp 1.3. If you have Bootcamp 1.4, according to the user on the forums, you do in fact have the latest Beta forceware drivers installed (i.e. the exact ones I had just forced the setup to install). Sure enough, I got the same performance after reinstalling the latest Bootcamp drivers from 1.4.

I'm sorry if you already had Bootcamp 1.4, and this was no help at all. I just figured I would give all the info I could on the subject.

Sorry you're having issues, hope they get resolved 🙂.

Thanks guys =)! I actually already went to that laptopvideo2go page. I did a search on here. Actually I think I had an older version of Bootcamp because my drivers were not up to date. After installing the new drivers its now showing a newer driver date. Maybe Apple just released a new bootcamp version because I just downloaded bootcamp not too long ago. A week or 2 ago! I'll jump right into Bioshock immediately after I type this up.

Thanks again!
