Epson Stylus Color 680 printer driver

The Epson Color Stylus 680 has been an excellent printer for me. Works fine on iMac G4 running OSX (10.4.10). Connected to the iMac G5 (OSX 10.4.10) it doesn't want to play. USB is connection is recognised as printer. All goes well in printing set ups and then at very moment it would start printing... nothing. Red indication appears on printer icon in dock. Job stopped is indicated. I've reinstalled drivers from the OSX Tiger disc. No difference. I've searched in vain on Apple and Epson sites for a download but there doesn;t seem to be one for Intel based imacs. The Tiger install disc was for the iMac G4. Is there a different Tiger OSX install disc specifically for Intel iMacs?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Never use an install disc from a PowerPC Mac to install on an Intel Mac. The PowerPC version is written in code understandable by the PPC Macs. The Intel version is written in code for the Intel chips. You don't want to overwrite the Intel version of Mac OS X with PPC code. You will be in big trouble if you do. It may require reinstalling Mac OS X to get rid of the issues it can cause.
Your iMac Core Duo came with its own install discs. They should have been in the box with your mouse and remote control and Apple literature. If you did not receive them, or accidently discarded them you need to contact Apple for replacement discs specific to the iMac Intel model.
There were two Intel drivers on your iMac C2D when it arrived for the Epson Color Stylus 680. You have now installed a PowerPC version that is probably what is now confusing the issue. You will need to uninstall the PPC driver.

PS- Your iMac is not a G5. The G5 was a PowerPC chip made by IBM/Motorola. You Intel-based Mac is an iMac Core Duo

Thank you David, you have enlightened me. Luckily I have only custom installed the printer drivers from the OSX (PC) Install disc. All other applications etc seem to function well. Can you 'touch wood' with a computer? I can't locate the Intel install disc and will try Apple. Aloha.
