Can you restore deleted iCal data?

I just started a new job -- with a Mac. I'm a Mac newbie and I'm having all sorts of trouble. My biggest issue is that the woman I'm replacing kept all the data I need to do my job in iCal ... but it's all gone. It must have been accidentally deleted. Is there a way to restore it?

Welcome to the discussions, I love_myPC.

Not much chance, unless there was a backup, or unless it was synchronised somewhere. You could try locating the folder Library/Application Support/iCal in your home directory and, with iCal not running, drag it to the desktop. Then restart iCal. If the data has not been deliberately deleted within iCal, it might be repopulated by SyncServices.

(Sorry for posting multiple places but I'm trying to figure this all out tonight...)
So, I also have a 6 or 7 week backup of my files so I might try this to restore 3 years of iCal enties. But, I also have iCal data from July 07 on the laptop and desktop. Somehow in .mac Sync, the server decided (???) to sync the wrong way or delete the old entries and -- stupid me -- I agreed to sync the more than 5%. Now everything prior to July 07 is missing.

My question is what will happen if I follow this advice and restore my iCal to what's on my external drive from 6-7 weeks ago? Will it replace the iCal contents currently there from July 07 onward? And will I be able to sync to the desktop that also has the July 07 onward entries?

Thanks!
