Thank You Steve Jobs and Apple, Inc.

Just want these forums to now be flooded with praise for Apple's decision. It's not $200, but I never expected that. After all, we stood in line knowing that price drops would come, although we never expected such a drastic drop. A $100 gift card is a nice resolution to this situation, and my faith in Apple has been restored. I've already called customer service, of who I was on the line complaining to for most of the day, and filed a 'compliment' to thank Apple for addressing this issue and listening to their loyal fanbase. Please do the same. Cheers ~

Don't hold your breath. They promised me a credit for a U2 iPod snafu, a year ago. Know what I got, not a **** thing, oh I did finally get the iPod I paid for, after that nada. Definitely helped in my decision to go with a Zen after that experience. Apple Employs only those that don't know and Don't CARE, Period!!!

I agree. I was as angry as anyone, but this makes it right with me. The part that means most to me is the acknowledgement of the breach of trust with the early adopters. That is what bothered me most, and I am glad that he apologized especially for that. I understood the business decision already.

I recommend Apple products all the time, partly because they have been loyal to their customers, and I will continue to do so.

Thank you? I have two iphones, mine and my wifes, two new mac laptops, an apple tv, and a few ipods and I feel like I was just robbed. We bought 2 of the 4Gig iphones but yet I am not given the $100 gift card. Why is that? I basically got the same treatment from Apple that the 8 gig users received. In fact, I would argue that the 4gig people got shafted in all of this! I guess the 4gig customers are not as important as the 8 gig customers. If I could get my wife and I out of our existing ATT contract I would get out immediately! I've never seen Apple make such a huge PR mistake.

why wouldn't you receive it? The open letter from steve jobs says:

"Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store."

it doesn't say anything about whether you bought a 4gb or 8gb iphone. it says "...EVERY iphone customer..."

Praise? That's nuts. I got two phones 17 days ago and was told at the time of purchase that the price would stay the same through Christmas. Now I am out $400. because they announced on a Thursday. Then they want to give you $100. dollars to spend in their store? Big Deal. It isn't the money it is the fact that they lied. Now they are being cheap. It is just unfair.

Why should you feel robbed?? You made the mistake of not spending a 100 more for twice the storage space! There is nothing wrong your phone, you made the decision at the counter to save yourself some dough and these are the repercussions . I believe that this by far the best pr contol that i've seen in a long time. The only unfortunate incident that i see is that now all you crybabies are going to expect apple to compensate you for every price drop in the future, causing them lose even more money. Why do you feel robbed? Are you going to expect a price difference when apple inevitably updates your laptops (probably the least expensive macbooks at that)?? If you do than you should not be a consumer of any sort.

As said before, it's not the price drop that counts, it's the amount and the fact that it's only been a little over TWO months. The largest price cut, from Apple, I have seen in a long while is only about $50, and that was much longer than 2 months; and that was usually when the introduced new versions. And the iPhone is not like any other cellphone that has dropped in price. It is a lot like a mini computer and shouldn't follow the same track as other cellphones.

im not praising them...

on the day I bought the iphone my previous phone (cingulat 8125 was stolen) I had been promiced a price reduction on the next phone I buy, att would not honor my price reduction on the iphone, because it was said by apple "NO Price sales, or reductions are allowed at all" I thought it was cool apple made it known if you have an iphone you payed for it and you should be respected by apple for that choice.
