What is an alis

I just noticed an few items w/ an alis? What exactly is that?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Hi Depuma, Did you mean Alias? If so, it is the same thing as a shortcut on a PC. If you are not familiar with either, it is basically a link. You can make an Alias of any document, App. ...file/folder...etc....and place it where you normally work for easy access. Opening an Alias is just like opening the original. You can delete an Alias without bothering the original. So if your system is cluttered w/Aliases...go ahead and delete them. It will not affect the original.
