PCMCIA SD memory adapter on Powerbook G4

I have a 2 Gb SD memory card that has successfully uploaded camera pictures to 15 inch PB G4 via a PCMCIA adapter. If I leave the adapter and card plugged in and send the OS to sleep, when I waken it again I have lost the cursor and the display is stalled. The cursor returns if I detach the PC adapter.
I want to use this card as additional memory on this machine. Does it need to be reformatted to avoid these problems?

Hi,

I have a wireless broadband card that acts much like yours if I do not unplug it when putting the machine to sleep or shutting it off. When it comes back on the broadband is off (went down with the computer) but can't get my mouse to work altho the trackpad does... that's how I get to where I'm going again. I have found in the Apple Menu under 'more info' that the "PCI/AGP Cards" are under the same catagory... The cardbus and the display are in the same area. This could make it do what it does thru confusion since one was on when it went down, what gets going when it comes up? How is it routed? Thru the card or thru the display card? So I have just shut it down on the icon before I shut down the computer... it comes up much friendlier the next time, even with the card in place. But, I have to restart it again once the computer is up.
This may work for what you want to do with the added memory. And the SD memory is Flash, so it needs no power to hold it's memory...

Try it, Enjoy
