A4 crop ratio

A4 crop ratio

Seeing as how, over "here" at least, photographic paper for inkjet printers is only available for 6"x4" and A4 (297mm x 210mm) it makes sense to crop to the A4 size and avoid disappointment.

Catch is the ratio is 1: sq root of 2, ie 1:1.141428571428.....

Anyone worked out a ratio that works?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

21x30 is within 1% of the correct ratio.

Hi,

using the values 297 and 210 should work, doesn't it? But better take the exact measurements, just because the packaging states A4 doesn't mean there are no tolerances (in my experience at least).
This of course only makes sense if you can print truly borderless.

It's 1.414213562

70 to 99 is within half a percent and as accurate as 297 to 210
