File Extension UDF

Question

File Extension UDF

I have I-life 06. When i burn dvd with i-dvd and I put in Bose 3.2.1. GSX system, I have some problems.

Bose said to me that I have to use -R Dvds and the file extension has to be UDF. How can i see file extension when I burn a dvd with I-dvd?

iDVD can't do that, Aldo.

You will need a program like ffmpegX to convert the disk image to UDF.

UDF isn't an extension, it's a disc format! The DVDs that play in DVD players must be in UDF format. When you create a DVD with iDVD, it is written in UDF format.

Many thanks guys, but if Bose told me that I need -R Dvds and UDF file system is created by I-DVD, why do I have problems? After 10 minutes it said to impossible to read!

What brand media did you use? We recommend Maxell or Verbatim. Memorex has a BAD track record here.

In addition: For best compatability with set top DVD players: 'burn' to a disk image out of iDVD (it's an option under FILE) instead of directly to writable media.

Then use Apple's Disk Utility or Roxio's Toast Titanium to actually burn the disk image file to writable media at a LOW speed - 4x or less.

If you need help with the Disk Utility step, just ask.

Many thanks! I will try with disk image. I never used Apple disk utility, so if I will be in trouble, I will ask some advice, but it is so simple use mac! But I'm new and sometime I need some help.

I did what you advice to me, except for the dvd cause i didn't find a maxwell or a verbatim (i used a Imation dvd) but it seems that all is going good!!!

I watch 20 min of the dvd this morning and my bose didn't stop!!
