4:3 screen and 480i?

I have a 4:3 27" CRT TV with component video in, but a maximum resolution of 480i. If I buy a tv, will it work right out of the box? Can it support 4:3, or will I have to use it in letterbox form?

I just got my Apple TV and I have a 4:3 Samsung TX-T2793H (27" CRT) and everything looks great. I haven't tried low def though. Just 720p and 1080i. It seems to me like everything just sort of works.

Before buying I was worried about how it would crop stuff and about the frame rate and resolution of itunes content. All those concerns are gone now though. Guess I've been spoiled by hi def.

Good luck.
