ringtone bell icon.

I still can't find the ringtone 'bell' icon. Please help. I have the latest updates on both iTunes and iPhone.
I have checked preferences and view options, all to no avail. I hope Apple has not singled me out for this punishment after years of loyalty.

MacBook., Mac OS X (10.4.10), also own an iPhone.

I have the same problem, except that I can't fix it. I went to the iTunes store and found how to make the ringtone bell visible, but there is no such option in my library. I have the latest iTunes version on my laptop, supposedly, but the ringtone bell is not visible on the left. On my desktop at work, same iTunes version but the bell is visible and I did not do anything there to make it visible.

Any idea of what I can do? Thanks

I have the same problem.
I have a few dozen songs where the bell shows up. Then, I have maybe 200 where the bell icon is NOT displayed in my 'bell' column.
However, if I right-click on the song and select' create ringtone' it sure WORKS: I can create the ringtone, pay my 99 cents, all is well. But, I literally have to guess which songs are eligible first as the bell icon doesn't show....

Is there any way to 're-check' or 're-index' the itunes list so that the bell icon correctly show songs that can be upgraded?

Thanks,
Dan

I am having a very similar problem -
I am using iTunes version 7.5 (most up-to-date at time of posting) and nowhere can I see anything about ringtones or the bell icon.

If I go to View, View Options, there simply is NO check box for 'Ringtones' in my main iTunes menu.
I can however see this column if I go to the iTunes store and use View Options to select the 'Ringtone' column. Though this is rather pointless as NONE of the tunes I search for on iTunes ever show a bell icon next to them.

I have tried 'right-clicking' songs in my library and songs in the iTunes store library and there is NO option to 'create ringtone'

In short, it is as if it where impossible to make ringtones as far as I can see.

First, make sure you click on your music library and have all your songs on screen when you click View. If you are looking at your "ringtone library" when you click view, the option of ringtones won't come up.
After clicking View, select "View Options" and select "ringtone". A ringtone column will immediately pop up next to the song title in your music library.
Hope this was helpful,
Tanzie
