Setting up groupwise novell on Iphone

We also use Groupwise at work so I have been trying to set up my mailbox on the iPhone. My network administrator gave me the settings to use, but so far it has not worked. It's trying to verify the IMAP settings, but no luck so far.

Update: I was able to sync my Groupwise account on my iPhone today through IMAP. I had the wrong SMTP server and my network administrator was able to point me in the right direction. It was fairly easy to solve.

I have successfully created an IMAP account on the iPhone to access GroupWise 6.0.4. However, there are a few problems: (1) random server abends on GWIA once a week; (2) cannot delete items on iPhone or it will abend server.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

We do not use the Groupwise calendar, so unfortunately I cannot assist you with solving that problem. We use the Oracle Calendar, and to sync that to my iPhone, I export an icalendar file (.ics) from there, and then import it in to iCal at home on my Mac. A little tedious, but it works. I would suggest that you export a file from Groupwise calendar and import it in to Outlook if you are a Windows user.

As far as getting Groupwise to work, it was just a matter of configuring my iPhone properly with the correct servers. Although I've had some problems sending out mail when I am on EDGE. Retrieving mail is not an issue, but there are some issues with outgoing mail.

Update: I should follow my own advice and configure the correct servers. My outgoing mail problem is fixed, so it works no matter what network I'm on.

FYI, I do not use SSL on the incoming mail but do use SSL on the outgoing mail which points to a specific authentication smtp server.
