I bought and created a ringtone in itunes. I have authorized my powerbook to play the ringtone, and if I click to play it in iTunes it plays as it should. It shows in the list of ringtones and I have selected all ringtones to be synced to my iPhone. However, when I sync, the ringtone does not sync. I get no error message or other information. I have tried it with a second ringtone I created and neither one will sync.
I'm having the exact same problem - went thru all the same steps- re-authorized, rebooted, re-synced - tried selecting all ring tones and tried selecting one by one - Nothing!

How did you AUTHORIZE the use of a ringtone??? I bought a song and then created a ringtone -- now when i sync with my iphone it tells me that my computer is not authorized to use it??? what does that mean?
I have the same problem right now. It also happened to me trying to burn an idvd. With the idvd, all I had to do is restart itunes and idvd,.
With this new ringtone authorization problem I am trying to make the ringtone shorter than 30 seconds, I read somewhere this might solve the problem, and I also read that you have to manually check the ringtones folder through the finder and make sure the ringtones are there. I will try this tonight.
Figured out the problem. To anyone else that has this problem, you have to go into your ringtone area of the Library and double click the song and authorize it.
iTunes does not automatically authorize it to your account, even though you purchased it through iTunes in the first place.
