White and only audio playback

A white playback window means you're missing the video codec used in the file. Use the Movie Inspector window to find out what is used.

I have the same problem. But, the only difference is that when i click on a video i have made on a digital camera in iphoto, quicktime opens and says that i am missing a component to the application.I can play the sound of my video but the screen stays white. Quicktime does not say which one i'm missing so, im unsure which one to download!
Please help!

im having the same problem.
next to the format it says:

'XVID', 800 x 592, Millions
Microsoft ADPCM, Mono, 11.025 kHz
