canon mp 160, problems printing through network

Hi, I have a pc with xp on it, the printer is directly connected to it.
the drivers are installed and printing works fine on it. My problem is: on my macbook I connect to it. Then press the print button and in the print manager it says the document finished printed but nothing has printed out. The printer is on but it just doesn't work. Do I need to install drivers on my macbook? thanks for the help in advance.

You will need to install drivers on your MacBook, but you cannot use the Canon MP160 driver, as it has not be designed to work when the printer is connected to Windows. What you will have to do is install the Gutenprint 5.1.3 driver available from Sourceforge (http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/index.php3). There is no MP160, but there is an MP150, so see if this works for you.
