iPhone Fraud

So, today after lunch I decide that I should check Apple's site to see if the rebate form was up and to my delight it was. I printed it out and a few hours later I go the Apple Store in *Birmingham, AL*. I go up to an associate to check out and he has a problem with my rebate. No worries probably something weird with the easy pay or something. So I go to the counter where they have the actual POS units and try to check out. My rebate is showing up with no balance. That's right $0. So the manager of the store comes over and makes sure I haven't made a purchase online or anything. Nope sure hadn't. So she calls whoever she needs to call at Apple Store management or whatever and they tell her that my rebate has been redeemed in NEBRASKA. NEBRASKA!!!!!!! I have never been to Nebraska and frankly am not planning on it. So I am sitting at the counter sweating A.) because I want my $100 back and B.) how the **** did someone redeem my credit in Nebraska.

So there it is, iPhone fraud. I called customer support and the call got answered by someone in iPod sales. She told me that I could either wait on hold forever or call the store in Nebraska. So I call the store in Nebraska which is of course closed at this point.

I will repost when I find out what happened.

If anyone has any suggestions or has had this happen to them that would be awesome.

I also got the zero balance on the iPhone credit. I went to the Apple store and wanted to buy an iTunes gift card with my rebate money. They said the rebate credit was zero and I couldn't use it. They checked the Apple messaging system and said that other people were reporting the same problem. Apparently some of the rebate credits being issued by Apple are being used by other people. A little disappointing to say the least. I must say I love my iPhone, but Apple's customer service is sorely lacking.

i think somehow the serial numbers are somehow being crossed causing them to go to someone else with possible almost the same but by a digit off or their system is missrouting the actual credit to someone else just b/c. just got my 100 credit hope it works!!

I think it is an inside job. Someone must have gotten a hold of some serial numbers...

dude, i am having the same problem. I logged on earlier today to purchase Headphones for my iPod, and my balance is showing up as zero!

Im going to go the irvine spectrum store in Irvine California tomorrow to see what can happen with this. If apple doesn't refund the 100, then this is honestly fraud- i just hope it doesn't come to that.

Man, I am so disappointed that the computer messed up like this.

Is anyone else having these issues as well?

I had the same issue. I registered for my credit a few hours after they opened it up and printed it out to a .pdf file. About three days later I decided to use the credit online and the Apple Store Online told me that I didn't have a balance. ***? I didn't use it..so where did it go?

I went through the credit process again and strangely it took my serial number of my iPhone (again) and shot me a SMS and gave me a new $100 credit...which this time worked.

I suggest that you try to re-register for the $100:

Someone messed up somewhere.

Here is a question for you. I printed out a copy of the $100 credit on line on Sept. 14 and got a credit number and a pin number. Then, I got on line again just now to see if I had a $100 credit on my account. After not seeing one, I registered again and to another credit number and pin number. Which one do I use?

I wanted to try to use it so I tried to order 4, $25 gift cards and there was a request for my credit card number. So, I just backed out and did not order anything.

How do you use the $100 credit?
