[Probably] silly question about engraving

Hello all~! I'm a potential buyer for the new 160GB iPod classic, but I've been looking for a choice piece of information and thoroughly scoured the website-- nothing. So maybe you guys can help me.

Does anyone know if there's a character limit on the laser engraving? I want to have three short lines, but I don't know if they'll all fit. And does it take other languages? I'd very much like to put some kanji on it~

I always get mine engraved. The latest on my Classic 160GB reads: Long live vinyl! Anyway you get two lines and there is a limit. Go to the Apple store and click the one you want as if you are going to buy it. You'll be asked if you want it engraved and you can write out what you want and actually see what it will look like on the back. If it is too long or strange charachters, it will tell you. Go now! You wan't have to go through with the sale if you are not ready. Just delete.

I'm afraid the Japanese won't show up, but I'm going to pursue further and see if I can order it from the Japanese version of the Apple website, where the engraving I want DOES show up with kanji. XD
