Can't see ringtone icon in iTunes

Can't see ringtone icon in iTunes

I have iTunes 7.4.1 (2). I do not see any bell icons. I followed the directions, chose Music and View Options. Even tried View Options with "Purchased". Under my options, there is no ringtone selection.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help...I'm anxious to try this out.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Not all songs are eligible for ringtones and not all songs eligible for ringtones show the bell.. However, you can do a couple of things..

Go to "View" (File menu up top)
Options
Check Mark "Ringtones"

or...

Go to "Store" (again File menu)
Check Mark "Limit your search to songs that can made into Ringtones."
Click "Search"

Note...in my question I say that I tried finding "Ringtones" under options under "View"....I don't have that option.

Also, as per your suggestion, I tried looking under "Store"....the option to limit songs that can be made into ringtones" is not available.

?????

How can I not have these selections when my software is up to date...and you obviously do? I'm confused.

Just making sure you're selecting "View Options" (just in case). Under "View" select "View Options." There should be a box you can check next to Ringtones.

If not, do you see the other boxes?

OK...I choose, "Music" in my choices to the left, I choose "View" in the toolbar for iTunes, I choose "View Options".....I have a little window with choices....At the top it has "Show columns"....The first is "Album"....etc. etc. in alphabetical order....Under words starting with "R" there is Rating and Release Date....No Ringtones. ????

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for hanging in there with this. I really want ringtones!

I've figured it out....or stumbled into it. I went online looking for a song that was approved for ringtones. Bought it...and then "ringtones" showed up in View Options. I checked that and it asked if I wanted to see other songs I had for ringtones....I checked OK and all the little icons appeared. Seems like a strange backward way to handle it. But I now have ringtones.
