anyone having trouble with your iHome?

So on three occasions now, my iPod classic has failed to play music on the iHome.

when the time I select for the alarm to go off, all that happens is that the iPod turns on, but the music doesn't play, and after about 15 seconds later, the beeping noise goes off instead.

anyone else having this problem?

my iHome broke much like yours a few months back. if i pushed my ipod down on the dock, it would play and it was hit or miss if i didn't. i would just send it back to ihome, you pay to ship it there, they send you a new one. i bought mine from costco so i just switched it out there for free so see if you can return it where you bought it.

I don't have an iHome, but I just bought a Timex alarm clock with iPod dock and I noticed the same thing with my Classic 80GB. Everything works fine except it won't play the iPod when the alarm is set to go off. Instead it just reverts to beeping.

Seems that maybe Apple changed a ton of things between the 5.5G iPod and the classic. I would conjecture that it's the classic, not the iHome (or in my case the Timex).

IMHO the problem seems to be with the ipod classics default "pause" setting. Other forums have mentioned the same alarm problem with Philips AJ300D ipod clock radio and the Xtreme Mac Luna clock radio. When the ipod is re-activated, it's set on "pause" rather than "play" even if it's in the middle of a song. So it doesn't play when the alarm goes off. Lets hope apple fix this bug in the next software update

Agreed.

I have "lusted" for Apple products since I was a kid. I finally bought an iMac a year ago, now between my wife and I, we have that iMac, three iPods and two iPhones.

I am beginning to wonder why.

The fact that Apple hasn't already fixed this problem via a firmware update says a lot to me about the company.

Hey! Apple! This is YOUR discussion board! Are you listening? You are really ******* your customers off!
