Question

SMS and MMS settings

Hello guys... here is the thing, i can't wait to get an iPhone and i was wondering if there is a way to change the settings to the SMS and MMS features, like changing the numbers to contact the server or something. Is there a way to do that?.

there is no MMS on the iPhone, you can only email photos and one at a time, also you can only send a SMS to one person at a time as of right now, both these can change with future software updates

there is no MMS setting. MMS does not exist in the iphone, the only way to send pics is via email.

no you can not just change the server contact info like that to use on a different telcom network. next time just ask more directly. The iPhone is designed for AT&T

But there should be somewhere on the phone's settings to change that, after all it's a phone

Curiously, while you cannot receive MMS on an iPhone you can send it to people who have the capability to receive it on their phones even, if they are on AT&T with a phone other than the iPhone. David Pogue describes it on p. 97 in IPhone: The Missing Manual (which btw is a very useful little book). My brother actually did this by emailing a photo from his iPhone to his Verizon phone, and he received it as MMS on the Verizon phone. You email the photo to a special adddress that begins with the person's cell phone number followed by @vzwpix.com (Verizon). Pogue lists the addresses for the major carriers.
