Jam Packs won't install

I tried to install the Jam packs that came with Logic 8 and get an error. I have enough room on my disk. The install process starts, then after inserting the first Jam Pack disk, the error comes up.

All other components installed correctly.

I contacted Apple support.
I was instructed to make a Master DVD/CD disk image of each jam pack via disk utility (I also made one of the Logic install disk). All images were made successfully, so the CD's were OK.

I then mounted the Logic install disk image and did a completely new install (I removed all Logic preferences and the program).Initially, I could not install the jam packs using either the mounted images or the original disks.

I then installed all the program files, sampler content and garage band instruments / loops sans Jam Packs, via the Logic Installer disk image I made.

I then tried installing each Jam pack individually (after the initial install).

The key seemed to be using the mounted Logic Installer Disk Image with the original jam pack disk. The first jam pack installed correctly.

I then selected the next jam pack (remix I believe). This needed both Jam pack disks 1 & 2. So, I had the CD disk 1 in the DVD drive and mounted the disk 2 image simultaneously.

All installed correctly.

I repeated the steps for each jam pack.

It seems (at least for my situation) that having the images mounted and ready made the difference.

Hope this helps.
Rich
