Do you need to eject an Iphone from your computer?

When unplugging the iphone while it is charging from the USB port of a computer, does it need to be ejected like ipods? Or is it completely safe to just unplug it and go? I know it doesn't warn you to not unplug it, but I am just asking to make sure I don't screw up a few hundred dollar piece of equipment that I've owned for about 24 hours...
