When I first got the iphone I was able to download the camera roll pictures
ever since the updates
I have tried iPhoto and image capture and neither will even recognize that i have the iphone attached
I checked the Preferences, connected and reconnected, restarted the iphone,

Nothing seems to bring up the iphone for the photos
I also notice that although iTunes recognizes the iPhone and syncs everything else,
there is no desktop image for the iPhone.

    Joechristo,

There are a couple of things you can try.

    1. Try to reset sync history:
    -Go to Application
    -Open isync
-Next to blue Apple (Top Left of screen) Click on iSync and go to preferences
-In Preferences click on Reset Sync History
    Try to sync phone again.

    2. If the above steps did not work try this.
    -Go to applications
    -Open Image Capture
-Next to Blue Apple, click on image capture
    -Go to Preferences
-At the top of the page you will see - When a camera is connected: Open
-Make sure the drop down menu shows iPhoto

    Hope that helps.

I experience a similar problem. For months now I have been able to sync my iPhone with iPhoto, but after getting the new iLife, as well as iTunes 7.4.2, and iPhone 1.0.2, I'm no longer able to get photos off my phone. I tried both of Jose M's suggestions and neither Image Capture nor iSync seem to recognize my iPhone. My iPhone syncs perfectly with my music and contacts, but how do I get to my pictures?!?
