Unstuffing files

For some reason my computer associates .sit files with Microsoft Word (i'm not sure if it's all .sit files, or just these few), so I can't get my files to unstuff. Can anyone tell me how to either reset this, or what application OS X uses to unstuff so I can try to find it myself and unstuff my files?
