iPod Touch + Xbox 360 Does it work

I read on engadget that the iPhone can't connect to the 360 to stream music over your Xbox 360. And since the Ipod Touch uses the same OS. I want to know if any of you have successfully connected your touch to an Xbox 360, and streamed music to your Xbox 360 via the touch?

What are you talking about? The original iPod worked with the Xbox360 because -Microsoft- not Apple, built it to support streaming media content from FAT32 formatted external usb devices... The iPhone/iPod touch doesn't work because it doesn't show up as a FAT32 mounted drive... If the iPod touch market share gets proportionally large enough, -Microsoft- (not Apple) will probably fix it in an Xbox 360 dashboard update.

Zune would work on PS3, Wii, or AppleTV if Sony, Nintendo, or Apple cared to capture the 0.2% of the market that gives a crap about Zune interoperability. But since 100% of those guys own an Xbox360, doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon...

For the record, I'd put money on Xbox360 supporting iPod Touch before Wii or PS3.

so there is no known way yet to connect the ipod touch with my xbox?? what a bummer, but i have another question.

i was just curious as to if you connect like a normal ipod video with your xbox and go to the media>video tab on the xbox dashboard, can you play videos from your ipod via the xbox 360???? that would definitely be legit cuz im always bumming movies off of my friends itunes and then i could watch them on tv via xbox 360 connection. let me know

This is not possible ... yet.

Apple removed the functionality for the iPod touch to mount as an external drive, possibly to stop people having read/write access to the root of the firmware, anyway, becuase of this, devices like your PC/Mac, 360, Wii and other consoles will not read the iPod touch as an external drive.

At this moment in time there is no way official Apple-method to transport/access/write files onto your iPod touch.

Apple are releasing an official SDK for the iPod touch in feburary which could come with this functionality.

Hope this clarifies for you. 🙂
