G4 MDD is very noisy - can I replace a fan or power supply?

I still have an old G4 MDD which I use occasionally. However it is SO noisy compared with my new Mac Pro. It also seems very sensitive to heat -- if the room gets warm, the fans kick into high gear and I'm hearing jet engines...

Is it possible to replace fans and/or the power supply to improve the situation? Can anyone point me to suitable links to investigate this?

Mac Pro 2.66, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I ve istalled a so called "m12 kit" from Verax. It's like an adapter that let's you put an 80mm fan onto your powersupply to replace the small but noisy fans. I also swapped out the 120mm fan and put 2 80mm verax fans directly to the frontgrill (from the inside) via silicon screws. I also swapped out all the hd's. I'am botting from an external mobile porsche hd from lacie. The MDD is nearly as silent as the new apple machines and the hd's are a little faster than the preinstalled 60gb seagate. I've also installed two 2gb swissbit ram without any problems.
The verax kit is a little pricy but the only option I know of.
I recomend to use the adapter with 80mm fans from another vendor because I know that the verax 80mm's are not as silent as when I bought em first time.
I've read some reviews of some nexus 80mm fans supposed to be extremely silent and I've also tested some zallman's wich where extremely quiet too.
But as I said bevore the m12 adapter kit is the way to go. It is custom built for the g4 mdd. Use it with the fans of your choice. I think you have to hurry because they are only building them from time to time.
Here is the link to the verax site.

I also use the chud tools to activate nap.
When I turn nap of the fans go up to about half of their speed.
If I render some music or movies it goes up too, but they are still a little more silent the the original fans when the mac is in full workload.
For comparission, the fans act like the fans in the macbook pro if nap is turned on.

This works for me because I use the machine for watching movies browsing the web and listening music only.

If you want to use it as a workhorse then it wont make much difference.

Hope this helped.
