Cant Open Yahoo Mail?

This is really strange. I cant open my Yahoo Mail page from either of my two MBPs. I have tried Safari and Firefox with same problems.

I get this message: Too many redirects occurred trying to open “ http://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=us&rand=534325947&i=IWZkZHNKYX13d2Z4fyF 0c2ZzcnRKYnV1eHUhdGRKjmR4eHx%2bYlN%2bemJjWHJz&.src=ym”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

I can open My Yahoo page but it wont open to my Mail page.

No problem opening on my cheapo Dell on Firefox...

I emptied the cache but no fix.

thanks for any help,
frank

It sounds like Y!Mail is not recognizing your Y! Auth cookies for some reason. Strange that this would happen in both Safari and Firefox. Are you using the "Beta" Mail or the Classic mail?

You might also try posting your question at the official Yahoo Mail group:

Thanks for the Peace Craig, I am using the Classic.

It really is strange that it would suddenly happen. And not only on one MBP but two MBPs.

I just tried it on the old version of Internet Explorer for Mac and dont even get an error page just blank... then tried it on Opera and am able to get on my YMail page.

So what is the difference with all Safari, Firefox, IE and Opera? Strange isnt it...

Will look on the yahoo link.

thanks,
frank

I have noted the same thing exactly. Using my Mac mini with OS 10.4.10, I cannot reach the Yahoo Mail page with either Firefox or Safari, and get the same error message. No problem with my Dell PC, and, strangely, I am able to access Yahoo Mail with my iBook, which still has OS 10.4.8.

The problem persists through restarts and emptying the Firefox and Safari caches. I have a strong feeling the problem is at the Yahoo end, and not my Mac's fault.

Bob N, signing out of Yahoo then back into it also worked for me...

The really odd thing is that I only signed out of one MBP and the other slept. So I went to the sleeping MBP to do the same but it had already fixed itself (maybe from the first reset).

I find this really odd that for some reason all my Mac yahoo accounts are connected somehow. Maybe thru the internet connections???

thanks all,
frank

p.s. Now another really strange thing. I am trying to give Bob N a solved point but the solved box link wont work. I will try again later....
