iSight re: Camfrog

I recently downloaded Camfrog for this version of Mac. When I first downloaded it, it worked great, except I had no sound coming from the chat rooms. That didn't bother me much because I don't listen to the rooms much, but then my built-in iSight stopped being recognized in the room. The green light is on, my settings are set on iSight, and my own camera screen shows up, appearing to work fine. But, in the chat room, there is no camera icon, and when you click on my name it says Video undetected.

I tried emailing camfrog about 5 times over the past month, including my pro order and serial number, and finally just got a response stating they are coming out with a newer version soon which may help, but who knows how long that will take.

Any suggestions? (on either the sound or camera?)

Thanks

Well done!

Web sites like Camfrog (and the many other live video sites) have unique requirements. The FAQs or Help links at their sites give the best answers for your compatibility, configuration, and operating questions concerning their particular operations. You have done exactly the thing in going to them for help.

From their response, it seems that Camfrog recognizes that they have known issues that require software update for a fix. If you cannot wait for the update that they promise, you are left to decide whether to try a different live video website. If the current version of Camfrog is causing problems with your system or other applications, uninstall it.

You're welcome, SoCalPrincess.

I am sure you are correct about the few FAQ or discussions posts there. If you are going to take Camfrog's advice and wait for an update, you can help them and other users by posting this Camfrog-specific discussion in the dedicated Camfrog forum.

Camfrog's response to you clearly says that you will need to wait for a solution, so nobody can offer tips here on how to make the site work for you until Camfrog makes the needed changes. You will help Camfrog and other Mac users of Camfrog by posting in their forum. Your post there may even save other new Mac users the weeks of email time it took you to find out that the software is being updated. 😉

Please let us know whether you need any other info before you can mark your iSight topic "Answered."

You're welcome, SoCalPrincess

Perhaps their site is still under construction. It was good of you to try to let the others know.

Hopefully, they will get the Forum working soon so you can help the others who are having difficulty. If they do not, I imagine most users will move on and use another video site.
