IPOD TOUCH - hold button??

I want to play music and put the ipod in my pocket without it changing.. is there a hold button like on the other ipods? I can't seem to figure this out, please let me know ASAP! Thanks for the help (:

Tapping the hold/standby button located at the top of the iPod Touch will lock the screen.

Its a button not a switch like on my mini, but I'm happy that it would work fine for pocketing

okay then how do i turn the ipod off? i thought that was the off/on button.

Press and hold the standby button for a few seconds and the iPod touch will prompt you to move the slider to power it off.
