REX file problems. Please help asap.

Hey guys,

Quick Problem; So I finally got Rex files in my browser by importing them into the bin, however I'm getting this clicking noise (like a much louder/harsher metronome) that plays at every slice. It's on every loop, and it's buggin the crap out of me.

Also- Is there a way to batch convert Rex/Rex2 files into the ES-Sampler as patches? Or do I have to do each one at a time (snore o.o)

Thanks!

I believe there is and option upon import (velocity) that adjust the attack of the rex files playback. Also the EXS has a similar dialog upon importing as well. No batch conversion option... Logic has had that click pop since version 5 or 6. Workaround, EXS: add a slight attack to suppress the rex pops. Workaround for the arrange: make sure u dont change to tempo to drastic, as the rex slices don't cut each other like expected(Reason). Hope this helps clarify REX(Propellerheads) and Logic (apple). Rex format is third party and it took an awful long time for logic to get to this stage with this format.

Did you get the option to do the crossfade when importing? I use the default 5ms crossfade with no issues. I just drag the REX file right onto either a stereo audio track or to a blank place in the arrange page.

I've been importing Drumcore REX files as well as 3rd party REX files as well as WAV files that I've converted using Recycle 2.1. I'm not hearing any clicks. Of course, you can't change a 150bpm loop into a 75bpm loop without some artifacts, but the normal range (+/- 15bpm) seems to be just fine for me.

I don't know of a way to batch convert TO REX files, but you can convert REX files to Apple Loops in a batch mode by using the Apple Loops Utility. Check the manual, but I think it's almost as simple as dragging the rex file folder into the utility...

The downside to that is that you won't be able to use the utility to do a search since you will not have entered the metadata. That would have to be done manually.
