Import video from Sony Handycam DCR-TRV18 via USB
Hello folks. I've been scouring this forum and the net trying to determine how to get video off of the a DV tape from a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV18. The camera only supports USB (which it tags as "Streaming") connection to the MacBookPro.
iMovie will not recognize the camera. The settings avaialable on the camera are "VCR", "OFF", "CAMERA", "MEMORY".
I currently have iMovie HD 6.
* So, the question is: How can I get the video off of the tape to my Mac? Do I have to use some other software, buy hardware, use Windows to extract it?
Can someone clearly answer this question? I've burned more time digging for answers than it will take to conver the resulting vid to FLV and publish to my client's website. I have to get the freaking files off the tape though! Arrgh!
