V-Drum Hi-hat pedal controlling volume fader in Logic

I am trying to figure out how to stop the hi-hat pdeal of a Roland V-Drum from controlling the volume fader in Logic of a selected track when recording midi data from the Roland TD-3 V-Drum module. Everything seems to work well including the open and close hi-hat data however the hi-hat pedal is also affecting the volume of the selected track. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
