My iPod was stolen today, and I want to report it to the police. However, I don't have the box anymore, so I don't have the serial number. Is there somewhere it is stored in iTunes or am I just out of luck?
I did this, and it didn't give me the info I needed. I was just wondering if iTunes kept that information stored anywhere. I thought I remembered seeing it on the screen when I synced my iPod, but wasn't sure. Oh well...I'm pretty much convinced it's gone for good anyway. It disappeared from my (locked) locker while I was in surgery!!

Yes and that link will get it from iTunes.
What happens when you click "*Upload the serial number of my last connected iPod*"?
The serial number is in the file
com.apple.iPod.plist . Not sure where this is located in Windows. THe link above will read this file and display the serial number for you.
OK, I found the link...I just didn't scroll down enough. Now the problem is that when I click on the link, it says applet not trusted. Both my husband (a computer nerd) and myself have tried to get it to accept the applet, with no success. I guess I wasn't supposed to have any luck with this.
