"Use itunes to restore"

Hi there,

My ipod nano froze the other night in between a song list and an album cover. i tried recharging it, and now get a message reading "Use iTunes to restore", followed by the same phrase in three different languages.

I have browsed support and have been unable to figure out how to fix it. This is currently the only screen that appears.
